My New Flat Iron!

A couple weeks ago I purchased the Paul Mitchell 1 1/4'' Flat Iron.  My hair stylist uses that product on my hair and it always turns out gorgeous.  So,  finally bought it.  Only downside: expensive.  I think mine was $115.  I'd gotten a Hot Tools Flat Iron before that for $65, but had to take it back because my hair got poofy after only an hour of flat ironing it! :( I thought it'd work fine because an Ulta employee recommended it and it went up to like 435 degrees!  But...no.  It was terrible.

Quick Mini Post!

ONE PRODUCT I DON'T LIKE: Olive Oil.  I feel like this does nothing to my hair except make it greasy and sweaty.  It doesn't even smell that great.  Definitely need to use Jojoba Oil instead.

ONE IFFY PRODUCT: Carol's Daughter Original Hair Milk Curl Definer.  It smells great, isn't outrageously expensive, and has a sample available (which I love!), but the only thing it does is make your hair soft.  The words "Curl Definer" are in the product's name, yet it did absolutely nothing for my curls.  I can see using the Hair Milk for a supplement product, but on its own I was not pleased at all with the results.  However, I have incredibly thick hair.  It may work just fine for people who have less hair than I do.

Blog 2!

I'm sorry I haven't been on in a year.  I've been really busy with school, but this sumer is my time to do LOTS of reviews.  I'm determined to find a way to wear my hair curly.

So, for tomorrow, I'm going to wash my hair with Bed Head shampoo and conditioner.  Then, the Silk Elements  Moisturizing Treatment.  Out of the shower, I'll apply the Mixed Silk Leave-In Conditioner by Silk Elements.  I've been watching probably 2 hours worth of random hair videos on Youtube the past couple days and am excited about trying these products!

In addition to the Mixed Silk Leave-In, I bought the Mixed Silk Curly Gel.  I'm not sure I want to use these products at the same time though.  If I just use the leave-in and decide it's not enough, I'll add the gel.  I'm going to try the Mixed Chicks Trio (shampoo, conditioner, and leave-in) again because they're the best products I know of so far.  I also bought a silk bonnet to wear at night.  The final thing I bought is the Silk Elements Moisturizing Treatment sample.  It's supposed to keep my curl pattern defined over night.  I'll let you guys know how that works on Wednesday.  I got all these products at Sally's (except for Mixed Chicks which I got on their website).

The other products I'm going to purchase very soon are Mouse (probably just a random one from Walgreens), Kinky Curly Knot Today, and Kinky Curly Curling Custard.

Let me know if there are other products you recommend I try out. :)  Tootles!

Edited Routine Results!

All right, I redid my routine yesterday, and I'm pretty sure my curls would've turned out excellent. The thing is, I was outside yesterday by a pond so my dog could swim and have fun, but it was super windy.  My hair was blowing everywhere and it effected my curls.  After that, I went to a women's golf thinge outdoors and it was even windier then!  So, yeah.  My hair was pretty poofy by the end of the day.  I'll redo the routine again and let you know how it turns out.  Toodles!

My Hair Flat Ironed!

So, here are just a couple random pictures of my hair straightened.  My flat iron is an old, ugly red Conair, but I'm getting a new one this summer.  I'm liking the TS2 flat irons, but I might change my mind. And I'll be adding a lot more pictures of my hair straightened soon! : )

Results from Blog 1!

Okay, so it went okay.  My curls aren't that poofy, but they're not defined at all.  BTW, I added one more product to my routine: Bath and Body Works Aromatherapy Energy Body and Shine Orange Ginger Conditioner.  It smells fabulous, is good for your hair, and I guess gives you energy lol.  Anyway, I put that in while I was in the shower, right before I applied the Mixed Chick deep conditioner.  I got the aromatherapy conditioer at Bath and Body Works yesterday, along was a million other things.  They're having a "yellow" sale and almost everything is either 50 or 75% off.  So, the soaps are $2.50 (8 oz) and the conditioner I got was only $5!  Sadly, they are discontinuing the Dancing Waters collection :( But they're getting 3 new summer citrus collections. I bought one to test it out!

Anyway, back to hair.  I'm pretty sure what I did wrong.  AS SOON AS YOU GET OUT OF THE SHOWER, DO NOT DRY YOUR HAIR!  IMMEDIATELY PUT THE PRODUCT IN!  THEN, YOU CAN DRY YOUR HAIR.  As soon as I got out of the shower, I "bounced" my curls under a fan to dry them a little and my curls totally lost their texture.  So, I'm going to try this routine again tomorrow and hopefully the results will be much better.

As far as the products go, the Mixed Chicks leave-in conditioner is my favorite.  It works pretty well. The Blended Beauty was all right, but it has a very strong, not-so-good smell.  I might try to find a replacement for it, although I did spend $20 on it.  You know, testing hair products can get expensive.  I think every hair website should allow you to buy a sample of the product, like the Mixed Chicks sample trio.  I <3 that.  The Hair Milk has a really good smell, but the Blended Beauty overpowered that smell.  Tip: If you're going to use the Blended Beauty, don't use that much of it.

Well, that's it for now.  I'll be back tomorrow for another update.  Meanwhile, here are a few pics of my hair from today's routine.
